Guidelines for Panel Sessions
Panel sessions are intended to engage attendees in multiple perspectives on a given issue relevant to the theme and scope of the conference. They are 80 minutes in length and the number of panel sessions offered is limited. These sessions are intended to have a broader impact than regular paper sessions, adding value to the TALE 2018 conference experience by enhancing the knowledge of the session participants and helping advance scholarship, practice, or policy in engineering/technology education and/or educational technology.
Panel session proposals of 800-1000 words in length should be submitted via the conference's manuscript management system. They must include the following elements:
Names and affiliations for each proposed panel member (members of the panel are the people who provide different perspectives on the issue being addressed by the panel and are critical to the quality of the panel session)
Aims/objectives of the panel session
Description of topics/subjects/content of the session and rationale for why these ideas are better served by a panel session than a regular paper session (approx. 300-500 words)
Description of the target audience, and why this is of interest to the TALE community
Brief description/abstracts of any proposed papers (if any) from panel members to accompany the panel session. (Note: These papers are to be submitted separately for peer review, but should indicate that they are associated with 'Panel Name'.)
Similar to traditional papers and other proposals for non-traditional sessions, panel session proposals will be peer-reviewed by at least three reviewers. All panel organisers and presenters are expected to register for and participate in the full conference.
